Great news, the new electronic scoreboard has been put up at the Mackie Cricket Ground.

First to relay the news was Ian Cameron, who was there at the scene as the construction workers were erecting the scoreboard. Ian immediately relayed the news to John Park, as news of the excitement spread. New club coach, Leroy De Alwis was first to raise his thumb in appreciation. He was quickly followed by Darren with “Great” and the thumbs up, and Manpreet with “Nice, thumbs up”. Club president, Mikel Guyetsky, expressed his joy with “Looking good”.

Upon hearing of the new electronic scoreboard, Club Council and Associations Liaison Officer, Ian Isaacs raised the important issue that it was nice having it, but “now the question of teaching how to use it starts”. This is an issue that needs to be worked out with all playing sections of the club – seniors, juniors, vets, and the new girls section (woo-hoo!). Ian Isaacs also raised the potential of Mackie seeking out  SECA to trial its coming iPad scoring policy with the electronic scoreboard. The club will now go through the process of identifying those needing to be trained in the electronic scoreboard’s use.

Dale Park has already thrown up the idea of showing outdoor movies for the juniors, if the new electronic scoreboard is capable of it.

Woo-hoo, the excitement grows.
