Three Mackie junior teams will be playing in finals this coming weekend – the ISEC U17s Friday nighters, the SECA Saturday North U12B team, and the SECA Sunday North U12C team. Well done boys!
The U17s at home beat a strong Glen Waverley Cougars team by 8 wickets. Toupas, Ho & Wiseman each took a wicket. Ho & Higgins assisted in a run out. Caspersz took a catch. When batting, Caspersz opened for a strong 23 before retiring, Higgins 8, Wiseman 36 n.o., Hammond 21, and Loiacono 18 n.o. Also well done to Jimmy Blenkinsop for coaching the team to the finals.
Also at home, the U12Bs beat Elsternwick by 21 runs on 1st innings. Bowen, Knight & Singh took 2 wickets each, and Drury & Haywood, 1 wicket each. Batting details are yet to be published.
Also at Mackie, the U12Cs beat Port Melbourne by 43 runs. Kolenda assisted in two run outs and took another wicket bowling. Tabachowitz took 2 wickets, and Baker took one wicket. Lasscock and Singh also assisted in run outs. Batting details are yet to be published.
Furthermore, well done to the Mackie SECA Sunday Rookies Central team that won 8 of 9 games and would be playing finals if there were finals.
The U17s will be playing their first final on Friday against Toorak-Prahran at Orrong Park (East Oval), starting at 4.45 pm.
The U12 North Bs will be playing their first final on Saturday against Bentleigh at Mackie, starting 8.45 am, and
The U12 North Cs will be playing their first final on Sunday also against Bentleigh at Mackie, starting 8.45 am.
