Leroy De Alwis is the new coach of the Mackie Cricket Club.

Leroy has played, captained or coached many teams over the years including Burnley CYMS, Omega, Le Page Park, Kingston Heath, North Dandenong, Calypso, Colombo, Deakin, Kandy and Veterans Cricket Victoria.

Leroy is a Level 2 qualified coach. In his 3 years at Le Page Park, 2014-2016, he achieved 4 premierships in 3 years.

In his nine years at Kingston Heath, Leroy achieved four premierships.

At Omega, he found some finals success too.

In coaching, Leroy strongly believes in batting for time and focusing on batting, bowling and fielding techniques. He likes to keep it simple and enjoyable, playing hard and with pride. He is looking forward to designing and implementing a new cricket program for our club and working with the junior committee to promote junior programs and development.

Off the cricket field, Leroy has worked for the City of Monash for around 20 years. Initially qualifying in Government (Statutory Compliance) and Local Laws, he works as a Local Laws Officer, Senior Community Local Laws Officer, and Acting Coordinator Local Laws.
