Hi everyone
This month I am sending out the best partnerships for the club for each grade in each decade. This should bring back some good memories for everyone as there are many names mentioned. It bought back a memory for myself playing in the fourths in 2000-2001. I was batting when Cliff Metcalf came out to bat after being suspended. I remember saying to Cliff, “just relax and enjoy yourself” Cliff was so pumped up he hit the first ball to the midwicket boundary for a four, and then we were off and running. Cliff did not realise there was an offside unless he snicked a ball through the slips, and we ended up having a partnership of 129….not bad for two very unorthodox batsmen!

The opposition must have trouble dismissing unorthodox batsmen because in 1991 Traf and myself put on 71 for the 10th wicket. All happy memories.
